Two shops and hostel burgled in Adambakkam

Police suspect that the same gang is involved in the theft of eight smartphones from the men’s hostel through open windows.

Unidentified men looted provision items worth Rs 20,000 and cigarette packets worth Rs 10,000 from two shops in Adambakkam on Wednesday. The same gang is believed to be behind the theft of eight smartphones from a men’s hostel in Sasthri Nagar. Burglars looted the shop of Murugasan of Kakkan Street in Adambakkam. They also broke into a tea shop owned by Jayakumar and fled with cigarette packets. Police suspect that the same gang is involved in the theft of eight smartphones from the men’s hostel through open windows. A battery from an autorickshaw parked near the hostel was also stolen.
