Police said K Murugan, a native of Villupuram, had been working in the Armed Reserve wing attached to Motor transport section. K Muthal, in her complaint, said that Muragan was in Madurai for a treatment for the past few months and he last contacted on June 19. His mobile phone went switched off from June 20.

His wife, Annie Besant (39), a policewoman attached to the Madras High court security wing, told police that they got married 12 years ago and the couple had two sons. She noted that her husband was regular on duty and he had told her that he was going to Kerala for a treatment.

Annie was also not able to contact Murugan after June 19.

She has also filed a complaint at the ICF police station.

The couple was staying at police quarters earlier and they moved to a rented house in Villivakkam seven months ago.
