Police arrest 22 for single-digit lottery sale

Police arrested 22 people for selling single-digit lottery in the city. In the first case, 6 persons, including DMK men, were arrested by the Ayanavaram police for running the illegal network.

Police conducted a raid at a ‘Thalapathy’ fans club run by DMK cadre on KH Road and seized Rs 9,000 and documents. The arrested DMK men were identified as Gopala Krishnan, Vishnukumar and Vijay.

In another incident, the Villivakkam police received information that two people were selling single-digit lottery at the bus depot. Following this, police arrested Rajendran (52) and Umesh (45), both from the same locality, and seized a mobile phone, a two-wheeler and a few tickets. Similarly, the Poonamallee police arrested Gopinath (31) and John Thomas (53) of Arumbakkam for selling illegal digit lottery near the bus depot.

They also arrested Ramesh (46) of Ashokan Nagar for selling the tickets near Senneer Thottam.

The Kundrathur police arrested Siva Arasu of Kundrathur, Muthrthy of Vijayarangam in two separate incidents andb seized cash from them. 

The Aminjikarai police arrested Mohankumar (59) of Maduravoyal, the Korattur police arrested

Petha Perumal (51) of Padi and the Avadi police arrested Anbuselvan (46) of Avadi for the same.

The Tambaram police arrested Arulprasath (33) of Kollapakkam for selling the banned lottery on Rajaji Salai and Venkatesan of West Tambaram near New Market area. The Vyasarpadi police arrested Vijay (33) of Vyasarpadi near MPM Nambi Street, Murugesan (56) of Tondiarpet near Perambur bridge, Hussain (39) of Pattalam and Venkatesan (45) of Perambur in separate incidents.
