The auction house, started by A Vedantam and his brother S Rajam, began by auctioning off properties from a small office near Madras High Court and eventually became a household name in the 1960s. They also carried out the bungalow sale and handed over the proceeds to the trustee in charge of the property. The firm that is currently housed on the ground floor of Gemini Towers continues with its popular weekend auctions where it sells antiques, consumer durables, home appliances and collectibles among others.
