Coast Guard rescues passengers of Chennai bound Andaman ship stranded after hitting rock

Indian Coast Guard engaged in a rescue operation

Chennai

As per reliable reports, the ship crashed into a rock near Malacca island, a part of Nicobar Archipelago. Severe flooding has been reported following a breach.

The ship is now stranded at some 40 nautical miles off Car Nicobar, Andaman & Nicobar Island.

Update:

Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Vessel Aruna Asaf Ali dispatched to the distressed ship has safely shifted all passengers aboard the Coast Guard vessel.
