Stalin consoles biriyani shop staff, six remanded
Virugambakkam police on Thursday confirmed that they have arrested and remanded seven persons in connection with the attack on a restaurant’s staff members by a group of inebriated men on Sunday night.

The arrested were identified as M Kishore (25), J ‘kutty’ Kishore (24), M Sathish (23), S Karthik (22), M Suresh (19), and V Mani (22). The main accused KL Yuvaraj and Diwakar have escaped to neighbouring state, said the police.
Meanwhile, DMK working president MK Stalin, who suspended Yuvaraj and Diwakar from the party on Wednesday after the incident came to light, visited the restaurant on Thursday and expressed his regrets to its owner for the behaviour of his party men.
Later, he posted on Twitter saying, “I will not regret to take severe action against any of my party men who taint the name of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.” The incident that happened on Sunday went viral on Wednesday after the CCTV footage was circulated in the social media.
