The deceased was identified as Prasanth of Lalgudi in Tiruchy. He was staying along with his friend in Vandalur. Together, the youngsters had started a fast food shop in the locality recently. On Thursday evening, they were involved in distribution of pamphlets near Potheri to advertise their shop.

Around 11 pm, as they were returning to home in Vandalur, their two-wheeler brushed against an MTC bus while trying to overtake it.  In the impact, they both fell on the road and suffered severe injuries.

Passers-by who noticed this alerted the ambulance service and the police. The paramedical staff in the ambulance who rushed to the spot found that Prasanth was already dead, while his friend was rushed to Chengalpattu Government Hospital for treatment. Later, Guduvanchery police visited the spot and sent the body of the victim for autopsy. Further investigation is under way.
