Five held for chopping off youth’s hand
week after a 20-year-old man had his left hand chopped off due to rivalry over a volleyball game in Veppampattu, Sevvapet police have arrested five persons.

They have been identified as Jebaraj, Charlesraj, Kumar, Mohankumar and Dinesh. The victim, Paul Dinakaran, was found lying unconscious with his left hand chopped near Veppampattu railway station last Monday. Police said there a rivalry between Paul Dinakaran and the gang men from neighbouring village for over a month in connection with a volleyball match.
Last Sunday, they invited him for drink on the occasion of temple festival in Veppampattu and attacked him with weapons near railway station.
Paul Dinakaran’s left hand was chopped off in the attack, while he sustained injuries on the right hand as well.
