Family of four attempt suicide over inability to pay loans
A fish vendor, his wife and two children attempted suicide by consuming poison allegedly due to financial problems near Polachalur on Thursday night. They were rushed to the hospital by the neighbours and are undergoing treatment.

The victims were identified as Kaaja Mohideen (32), his wife Sharmila (30) and children Parthana (12) and Mohammed Asif (8). Police said Kaaja Mohideen had borrowed money from many people a few months ago, as he faced some loss in his business he could not repay it and he decided to commit suicide with his family. On Thursday night, they consumed poison-laced food and sought help from the neighbours for medical held. They were rushed to Chromepet GH. Shankar Nagar police have registered a case.
