In the complaint, the woman stated that the men allegedly tried to snatch her bag that had Rs 10 lakh. However, the police suspect if the woman lodged a fake complaint to get rid of a man with whom she was friendly.

The woman, a resident of Mylapore, lodged a complaint at the Police Commissioner’s office claiming that a few men had tried to snatch her bag with Rs 10 lakh in front of Mylapore police station. Police noted that the woman had named all the four suspects in the complaint.

“The woman claims that the incident took place in front of the Mylapore police station. However, she went to the Commissioner’s office to lodge a complaint instead of the Mylapore police station. Secondly, the woman said that one of the suspects was forcing her to marry him. So, we suspect that she is trying to get rid of him by lodging a complaint,” said an investigation officer. The Police added that investigations are on and no one has been arrested so far.
