Pianist Anil Srinivasan to perform blindfolded in Chennai

Chennai’s favourite pianist Anil Srinivasan has come up with a concept of a concert in the dark. He along with two other musicians will be performing blindfolded in a concert to raise funds for Gnanadarshan Home for the Visually Disabled. The event will be held on September 28 at Museum Theatre, Egmore.

“We realise the intensity and importance of a problem when we go through a similar situation. We all know that by far the most important organs of sense are our eyes. Four years ago, I had played the piano blindfolded for almost 20 minutes for National Association for the Blind as part of its fundraiser. From then on, I was planning to do a concert in the dark for longer hours,” Anil tells DTNext

The pianist will be accompanied by Naveen Napier (guitar) and Krishna Kishore (percussion), who also would be blindfolded. “It would be even more challenging for Naveen and Krishna. Eye contact is very essential for musicians to play together on stage. It’s going to be an interesting challenge for all three of us,” explains Anil.

The pianist believes that this concert could be a phenomenal way of bringing a lot of people together.
