Woman, youth killed in separate accidents in city
Two persons, a woman and a 26-year-old, died in separate accidents in the city on Friday.

One of the victims, Murugeshwari (31) of Villivakkam, was on her way to her relative’s house in Koyambedu along with her husband Prithvirajan, a private firm employee, and their two children on a two-wheeler.
Around 8 pm, when they were passing by the 18th main road in Tirumangalam, Prithvirajan rode the bike into a pothole and lost balance. When all of them fell on the road, a mini truck carrying LPG cylinders ran over Murugeshwari in front of her husband and children. Shocked passers-by rushed Murugheshwari to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, but she was declared brought dead.
Tirumangalam traffic investigation police have registered a case and arrested the truck driver Lakshmanan of Chengalpattu.
In yet another accident on Saturday, a 26-year-old man was knocked down by a garbage truck on Kodungaiyur-Tondiarpet Road. B Kesavan of Ezhil Nagar in Kodungaiyur was on his way to work on his bike when a garbage truck rammed into his two-wheeler at Krishnamoorthy Nagar, killing Kesavan on the spot. Police have launched a hunt for the truck driver.
