Man arrested, fined for stopping officials from inspecting house
Taking a stern view of fever control measures, with 154 people being admitted to the government hospital over the past week including four patients who were diagnosed with dengue, Tiruvallur district administration slapped fine and got arrested a resident of Manavalan Nagar, who refused to allow the Health Department officials to inspect his house. The man, Balakrishnan, was arrested and fined.

According to district officials, Ponnurangan (30) from Villapakkam village, Nishanth (8) from Sembedu village, Mahesh (27) of Chittampakkam village and Gayathri (17) from Bhuji Reddy Palli are receiving treatment for dengue.
In addition, at least three persons are also being treated for H1N1.
Following the rise in the number of patients admitted with fever at the GH, Health Secretary Dr Radhakrishnan visited the hospital along with Collector R Maheshwari and MLA Rajendran on Wednesday.
Radhakrishnan told reporters that only five dengue cases and three H1N1 cases have been diagnosed. He added that 98 per cent of patients could be cured through regular medication.
“We have stocked more than twenty lakh tablets for tamiflu and we are prepared to handle H1N1 cases in case there is an increase in number,” Radhakrishnan said.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Vijay Bhaskar made a surprise visit to Chengalpattu Medical College on Tuesday and said that the public should not be afraid of dengue.
