Flight cancelled due to rain in Thoothukudi

The Indigo airlines flight, which was scheduled to take off at 5.20 am from Chennai, was cancelled after heavy rains lashed Thoothukudi. Owing to turbulence and bad weather the flight was cancelled. Following that, 20 out of 63 the passengers changed their tickets to Madurai, while others were sent to Thoothukudi on a flight at 11.20 am. The SpiceJet flight that was scheduled to depart at 6.05 am was delayed for three hours, and took off only at 9.05 am. Also, schools in the district remain closed on Thursday after a heavy downpour.
