Auto drivers return bag with valuables
Three autorickshaw drivers, who saw a bag containing 30 sovereign gold articles worth over Rs 7 lakh at Egmore railway station, handed it over to the owners who misplaced the bag through the police. Police said that Mathi (38), who was traveling with her husband Malaikani, had arrived at Egmore railway station from Virudhunagar in Pearl City Express on their way to Kutpulla district in Andhra Pra.....

Three autorickshaw drivers, who saw a bag containing 30 sovereign gold articles worth over Rs 7 lakh at Egmore railway station, handed it over to the owners who misplaced the bag through the police. Police said that Mathi (38), who was traveling with her husband Malaikani, had arrived at Egmore railway station from Virudhunagar in Pearl City Express on their way to Kutpulla district in Andhra Pradesh. After getting down at the Egmore Railway Station, they booked prepaid autoricksahw at prepaid stand and went to the Central Railway Station to board the next train. When they reached the Central station, they noticed that one of their bags, containing 30 sovereign gold jewel was missing. They had left the bag in Egmore Station, while booking the prepaid taxi. Meanwhile, three autorickshaw drivers noticed the bag and handed it over to the Egmore police. The honest act of the trio, S Vinoth (32) of Nammalvarpet, V Anand (37) of Ayanavaram and S Thangavel (42) of Ayanvaram, was highly appreciated by police officers.
