Two call-taxi drivers, who were using cars with fake registration numbers, were arrested and their vehicles seized by the MGR Nagar police.

Sub-inspector Veeramani and constable John, who were on night patrol at the flyover near Kasi theatre on Thursday night, intercepted two cars on suspicion. As the cab drivers did not have any documents, they were taken to the police station and grilled further.

When the police verified the registration numbers, it was found out that they belonged to other cars. When questioned, the duo confessed that they have been using the cars with fake registration numbers and would park their vehicles near Chennai airport for rides to avoid suspicion.
