The four-day event, to be held at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology on Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), would witness events such as farming activities, village games, performances, special events and village feast.
A function to announce the commencement of the festival was held at the college, in which Minister for Tamil Language, Tamil Culture and Archaeology, K Pandia Rajan, along with noted Tamil actors including Kasthuri and Aari participated.
According to Hemachandran, CEO and Founder, Brand Avatar, one of the organisers of the event, “The success of the first edition prompted us to consider making it a regular event, which would serve as a reminder to the city folks of their roots, customs and traditions, by re-familiarising them with the food, traditional arts, sports, and farming practices and produce.” He added that during the event in January, farmers, cooks and artists, who form the backbone of villages, would be invited and honoured. The event would go on four days, till January 6. On all the days, events would be held between 11 am and 10 pm.
The entry fee for Village Ticket isRs 100 per person, organisers said.
