Two Ministers to meet Nirmala in Delhi today

Though the ruling AIADMK has not issued any official statement on the development, party sources maintained that the Ministers have been briefed by the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami about the poll strategy that the AIADMK will be unveiling soon.

Party insiders said, the ruling AIADMK is considering both the options of going along with the BJP or facing the elections alone. The Telangana model of going solo is also under active consideration, so that the post poll alliance options are always kept open with the national parties. After Pongal, the alliance will take shape and if there is a BJP-AIADMK alliance, both party leaders O Panneerselvam and Palaniswami will visit Delhi, sources said.

When contacted officials attached to the Ministers’ chambers maintained that the visit was an official one seeking funds from the Centre that are due to Tamil Nadu. The Ministers will also update Centre on Cyclone Gaja relief works.
