DVAC raid at Tangedco’s CE office
DVAC will soon send a report to the government about the raid and seizures based on which the higher officials will decide on the action to be taken against the officer.

A team of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) officials, on Wednesday, conducted a raid at the office of TANGEDCO Chief Engineer (CE) on Anna Salai. The officials seized Rs 1.15 lakh, 3 gold coins, 12 shirt material and seven pant material.
All the seized items were received by the office of TANGEDCO chief engineer as new year gifts, a senior DVAC official said. A DVAC press release on Thursday said the agency had credible information that the chief engineer, distribution, south region, with office on Anna Salai was receiving bribe in form of cash and other valuables on the occasion ofnew year.
Based on this information, a joint surprise check was conducted by the officials from DVAC and district inspection cell on Wednesday night.
The three gold coins weighed 18 grams. DVAC will soon send a report to the government about the raid and seizures based on which the higher officials will decide on the action to be taken against the officer.
