The posters have photos of the right hand that is inked with dragon, Sivan and Parvathi tattoos, and the two legs of the victim. One of the legs has the mark of a toe ring (metti) which was removed.
On Monday, the conservancy staff at the dump yard in Perungudi noticed the body parts in a gunny bag when a garbage lorry from Power House area in Kodambakkam was disposing of waste. The police have formed special teams to identify the woman. After the autopsy at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital on Thursday, the police said that the woman could be in mid-thirties and the limbs were chopped from the body after the woman was killed.
Police believe that the posters might help them with a clue identify the woman. Police have also alerted all police stations in Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram districts to gather details of missing women in an effort to identify the victim.
