According to CMRL officials, a snag developed along the stretch between AG-DMS and Airport via Little Mount at 8.30 am thus affecting normal services. The blue line, which was the last stretch of the 45 km phase I project, was thrown open to public on Sunday.
A CMRL source said, “An apparatus, pantograph, on the roof of the train got entangled with the overhead cable which caused a trip in the electricity line. Services from Little Mount to Central and DMS to airport and those via Koyambedu were also affected.”
Initial reports revealed that a snag developed in the Over Head Equipment which affected the network. However, officials maintained that all routes between Washermanpet to AG-DMS in the Blue line and Central to St Thomas Mount in the Green line and Central to Airport operated as per schedule. Services later resumed at 12.45 pm.
