Butterflies, is an event under the UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN — sports and cultural competition for school students.
Butterflies took off as a vision to help the government school students to aim higher in their lives and make a difference.
A total of 915 students participated in this jamboree on February 2. Multiple events were organised with the aim to make this one of the best days of their lives, for it’s believed that with love and passion, anybody can be motivated to build themselves a secure and happy future.
The day started at 9:30 AM with some enthusiastic athletic events which consisted of a 100m sprint, a 400m relay and shot put. Students were also engaged in other exciting events like a 3 legged race, skipping and slow cycle race.
After a lot of these sports activities and competitions, students participated in essay writing, painting, pencil drawing, thirukural competition and quizzes to challenge their minds.
Their enthusiasm and will to win only showed us how capable they truly are. These events went on until 1 pm, after which a fulfilling lunch was served.
After an hour of resting, the students were up and ready for more. A medical camp was set up in campus for students to get themselves checked. There was an orthodontist, ENT specialist, dermatologist, dentist and a general physician available at the camp from morning till noon.
They were then escorted to the medical auditorium and entertained via some beautiful, melodious and energy packed cultural events. The event concluded by announcing the winners of each competition and distributing accolades to them.
