An official from the Regional Meteorological Center said the new weather system was due to convection. Other than this, there would be no major variation in temperature in the city, the official said, adding that there was no possibility of receiving any rainfall during this period.

In the last 24 hours, places including Tiruttani (37 degree Celsius), Dharmapuri (36 degree Celsius), Madurai Airport (36.5 degree Celsius) and Coimbatore Airport (35 degree Celsius) registered the highest temperatures in Tamil Nadu.

The interior districts will remain hot though temperatures may stay normal, according to weathermen. The city will have an overcast sky in the morning hours. Thereafter, the sky will be clear – which means without much moisture in the atmosphere. The maximum temperature is likely to be 33 degree Celsius while the minimum will to be 25 degree Celsius.
