Knife fight between Presidency College students leaves 3 injured
Two gangs of college students attacked each other with knives near a subway close to Stanley Government Hospital on Friday afternoon, which left three with injuries.

Police said the clash was a spill over of a simmering feud between senior and junior students inside the Presidency College. Such was the violence that many members of the public had to run for safety seeing the clash.
Some of them alerted the police control room, and Royapuram police rushed to the scene. Police managed to nab the injured students, including Murugaraj, while four others fled from the scene. The injured youth were admitted to Stanley Medical College and Hospital.
In a similar clash that broke out between students of different colleges at Poonamallee, three students of a private college sustained injuries. The attack took place over mistaken identity police said.
Three youngsters identified as Mahesh, Rajesh and Uma Murugan from Sriperumbudur were waiting at a bus stop in Poonamallee. The students of Nandanam Arts college who mistook them to be Pachaiyappa’s college attacked them with knife.
Police rushed to scene detained one Saravanan from Nandanam College.
