Mentally challenged minor gangraped near Kancheepuram, 2 held
A 15-year-old mentally challenged girl was allegedly gangraped by four men near Kancheepuram on Monday. Police arrested two of them on Tuesday and a search has been launched to nab the absconding accused.

The arrested accused have been identified as Deva (27), an auto driver, and Raja (25), from Thirukalimedu near Kancheepuram. The survivor is a resident of Chinna Kancheepuram area and her parents are wage workers. The survivor’s father found her missing from home when he returned from work on Sunday evening.
He filed a complaint at the Vishnu Kanchi police station on Sunday night. Kancheepuram SP Santosh Hadimani immediately formed a special team and ordered them to find the missing teenager. When police browsed the CCTV footage from nearby buildings, they found that a group of men had kidnapped the minor at knifepoint from her house and put her in an auto rickshaw. Kancheepuram police got information on Monday that a girl was lying unconscious on vacant land in Thirukalimedu village. Police rushed to the spot and identified her as the missing minor. She was rushed to the Kancheepuram Government Hospital where doctors found she had been gangraped. Police recorded her statement after she regained consciousness on Monday night. Police arrested Deva and Raja under the POCSO Act on Tuesday morning and sent them to Vellore prison.
