Parents, siblings kill youth over domestic quarrel at Walajabad
A 28-year-old youth was allegedly murdered by his parents and two brothers near Walajabad on Monday.

According to police, the victim was the second son of the couple and working in Singapore. He was killed during a fight over coming home drunk.
The accused had staged a drama on Sunday morning saying that their son committed suicide by hanging on Saturday night. However, the police inquired them on suspicion and found that the youth wasmurdered, said sources.
The deceased was identified as Mahesh of Iyyanpet in Walajabad. He was working in a star hotel in Singapore. He came to his native for a month on a holiday a few days ago. The police arrested his father P Mani (62), a retired rural development assistant engineer, his mother Tamilselvi (50) and two brothers – Mohanavel (30), a private firm employee and Ramesh (25).
According to police, Mahesh was an alcoholic. On Saturday evening, he went for a party with his friends and reached home late. When he arrived, Mani and Tamilselvi shouted at him for coming home drunk. Following this, Mahesh started attacking his parents.
After seeing their parents being assaulted, Mohanavel and Ramesh attacked Mahesh. In the melee, Mahesh became unconscious and when his family members checked, they found that he was dead. The family then decided to stage a suicide drama and hanged his body using a nylon rope.
On Sunday morning, Tamilselvi told their neighbours that Mahesh committed suicide. On information, the Walajabad police arrived at the spot and sent the body for autopsy to Kancheepuram Government Hospital.
When the police grilled the family members separately on suspicion, they confessed that Mahesh died during the fight. Subsequently, they were arrested and remanded in judicial custody. While the three men were booked for murder, Tamilselvi was booked for abetting the crime.
The police said Mahesh was very affectionate towards his parents and he had tattooed their names on his chest.
