Beautification of Kotturpuram road given to IT firm

The IT firm would also develop the road that abuts Kotturpuram Bridge and Adyar River at a cost of Rs 55 lakh under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). 

“The firm will lay footpath, landscape, earmarking of parking space with pergolas and greenery, rainwater harvesting, streetlights, benches, etc,” a Chennai Corporation official said.

Amtex Software Solutions is a New York-based company and has its office in Siruseri SIPCOT. 

“Tamil Nadu State Police Department’s mobile application ‘KAVALAN’ was developed by Amtex Software Solutions and they voluntarily came forward to improve the road,” he added.

The official said that the civic body had already handed over the maintenance of roads and ponds to private firms and associations, including CREDAI.

“A memorandum of understanding between the Chennai Corporation and Amtex will be done to hand over the maintenance of the road. The private firm will hand over the road after developing the road,” the official said.
