Man arrested under Pocso for kidnap,rape of sister-in-law

City police arrested a 24-year-old man under Pocso Act for sexual assault on his sister-in-law in Pallavaram. Police said that the accused Mohanakumar (name changed) plays percussion instrument in marriages. Since Mohanakumar’s wife was pregnant, her 16-year-old sister stayed with the couple to help her.

However, Mohanakumar misused the opportunity and misbehaved with the minor girl. Meanwhile, after the girl went missing, her parents lodged a complaint at Pallavaram police station. Investigation revealed that Mohanakumar kidnapped her and raped her. He was arrested under Pocso Act and remanded in judicial custody.

In Puducherry, a 19-year-old youth was arrested under sections of POCSO on Sunday for making a 16-year-old girl pregnant, aborting it and avoiding her. According to police, Sathyaraj of Velrampet, was in an affair with the girl from Villianur here. He had sexual contacts with the girl resulting in her pregnancy. Following this, the two-month pregnant girl insisted him to marry her. However, Sathyaraj took her and got her pregnancy aborted and later he started to avoided her.

The girl lodged a complaint with the CWC here. The CWC officials conducted an inquiry and found the complaint of the girl true. Following this, they directed the police to initiate action against Sathyaraj. Mudaliarpet police arrested Sathyaraj and lodged him in the Central Prison after presenting him before a Judge here.
