The police said that the mobile phones were traced with help of their IMEI numbers by a special team comprising cybercrime sleuths and sub-inspectors from various stations in T Nagar police district. T Nagar Deputy Commissioner D Ashok Kumar handed over the phones to their owners. “They were recently informed that their lost mobile phones have been recovered and asked to come to the police station on Sunday,” said the police.
This is part of the city police’s ongoing drive to trace the lost mobile phones. More than a 1,000 mobile phones have been returned to the owners in the past year, said the city police officers.
