SR augments express trains to clear rush

Vijayawada – MGR Central – Vijayawada Pinakini Express (Train no 12711 / 12712) will be temporarily augmented by one AC chair car. The train leaving MGR Central and Vijayawada will be augmented from July 1 to July 31, respectively.

Hyderabad – Thiruvananthapuram Central – Hyderabad Sabari (no 17230/17229) and KSR Bengaluru – Nagercoil – KSR Bengaluru Express (no 17235 / 17236) trains would be temporarily augmented by one sleeper class coach.


The train leaving Hyderabad will be augmented from July 1 to 31 and the train leaving Thiruvananthapuram Central will be augmented from July 3 to August 2. The train leaving KSR Bengaluru would be augmented from July 2 to August 1 and the train leaving Nagercoil will be augmented from July 3 to August 2, a statement issued by Southern Railway (SR) said.


One rake of Vaigai and Pallavan express trains would be converted into modern LHB coaches.


The revised composition of Madurai – Chennai Egmore – Madurai Vaigai Express (no 12636/12635) and Chennai Egmore – Karaikudi – Chennai Egmore Pallavan Express (no 12605/12606) trains is three general second class, three AC chair car, one Pantry car and thirteen second class sitting coaches.


The new coaches will be attached to Madurai – Chennai Egmore Vaigai Express (no 12636) from June 30, and to Chennai Egmore - Madurai Vaigai Express (no 12635) from July 01.


Coach composition will be done for Chennai Egmore – Karaikudi Pallavan Express (no 12605) from June 30 and Karaikudi - Chennai Egmore Pallavan Express (no 12606) from July 1.
