According to the residents who were part of the protest, even though the tanker lorries were getting water from the overhead tank, water was not supplied to them through pipes. Raising this complaint and seeking redressal, a large number of people came on to the road at around 10.30 am on Thursday. They tied their mouth using black ribbons and blocked a tanker lorry. Following this, Metrowater Assistant Engineer rushed to the spot and pacified them, explaining that the issue was caused after a pipeline got burst. This would be repaired in a couple of days, he assured, adding that water would be provided through lorries till then. After getting assurance from the Metrowater official, the protestors dispersed by 11.30 am.
