Man and son kill 45-year-old, one held
The police on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old man and are on the look-out for his father in connection with the murder of a 45-year-old man near Uthiramerur.

The arrested person has been identified as Solomon from Uthiramerur and his father Irudaiyamani. The deceased, C Arputharaj, was from Kuppaiyanallur village in Kancheepuram. On Sunday night Arputharaj noticed a two-wheeler lying on the road in front of his house. After he parked the bile on the roadside, he found that the break of the vehicle was broken.
Meanwhile, the owner of the bike, G Irrudaiyamani, of the same locality came to the spot and started arguing with Arputharaj saying that he pushed the vehicle down and damaged it. Soon both began to fight on the road. Irudaiyamani called his son over the phone and he came to the spot with an iron rod and both of them attacked Arputharaj. After Arputharaj fell unconscious with severe injuries, the duo rushed him to Uthiramerur government hospital and staged a drama that he met with an accident. As his condition was critical, Arputharaj was referred to Chengalpet GH but died without responding to treatments on Monday night. The doctors informed the Uthiramerur police that he was beaten to death and it doesn’t look like an accident. The police, who registered a case, found he was murdered by Irudaiyamani and his son.
