BDS counselling under govt quota in self-financed colleges from today

The selection committee under the Directorate of Medical Education has announced the counselling for admission to BDS course under government quota seats in self-financing colleges, while extension of first phase of counselling for the management quota seats for BDS course would commence on Tuesday.

The government quota BDS seats in self-financing would be allotted to BC, SC, SCA and MBC category on Monday. The students who scored between 346 to 277 in BC category, 287 to 195 in SC category, 125 to 107 in SCA category and 346 to 257 in MBC category have been called for counselling.


The selection committee has stated that candidates who are eligible to claim religious and linguistic minority seats in Self-Financing Dental Colleges need to produce a study certificate issued by the Head of the Institution last studied.


A total of 417 seats are available in self-financing colleges under State quota and 119 students were allotted BDS seats in the last session of the counselling. A large number of students remained absent for the counselling as only 173 students were present out of the 1,324 students who were called for counselling.


The tentative extension of first phase counselling for admission to BDS course under management quota is to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday. The students between the NEET scores of 397 to 283 have been called for counselling on Tuesday, while for those between the score of 282 to 190 would be held onWednesday.
