They said that the accused Mansoor Ahmed (39) of Tirumullaivoyal hit the victim Bhaskaran (78) with a brick on the head and then strangulated him to death as the latter allegedly demanded to have sex with him.
“While Bhaskaran lived alone in the house after his wife moved to their son’s house in Manivakkam, he befriended Mansoor Ahmed who worked in a nearby eatery as he went there often. Sensing that Mansoor was burdened with loans after marriage, Bhaskaran allegedly invited him home.
When Mansoor went to his house on the night of July 20, Bhaskaran sought sexual favours from Mansoor but he refused. Later, when Bhaskaran came out of the restroom, Mansoor who was waiting outside with a brick, hit him on the head. After he collapsed on the floor, Mansoor strangulated him to death and fled the spot after removing his jewels,” said police.
While the Mangadu police had registered a case on Sunday, they arrested Mansoor Ahmed from his hideout on Tuesday night. He was remanded in judicial custody on Wednesday. Further investigation is on.
