Rs 60 L, 2kg silver seized in Mannadi

He was identified as Ilyas of Kottayam in Kerala and has been handed over to the sleuths from the Income Tax department as he did not have proper documents to account the cash. The valuables were seized when police conducted raids at lodges in Mannadi as part of the security measures ahead of Independence Day. The police suspect that it could have been hawala cash and handed over the case to the Income Tax department for further investigation.
