CM christens 3 lion cubs, 4 tiger cubs
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday named three lion cubs and four tiger cubs at the Arignar Anna Zoological Park, popularly known as Vandalur Zoo.

He also opened a new enclosure, housing a male and female rhinoceros, brought from Telangana and Bihar under the animal exchange programme, for the benefit of public.
An official release here said lioness Neela gave birth to one male and two female cubs on January 6, 2019.
After being maintained over the months by the Zoo authorities, the Chief Minister named the male lion cub ‘Pradeep’ and the two
female cubs ‘Datchina’ and ‘Niranjana’.
Similarly, last August, a tigress ‘Uthra’ gave birth to a male cub and another tigress “Narmada’ delivered one male cub and two female cubs, including one white tiger cub.
Palaniswami named the female cubs ‘Venmadhi’ and ‘Yuga’ and the male cubs were named ‘Mithran’ and ‘Ritwik’.
