The social awareness documentary film is to educate women of Trinidad on the matter of menstrual hygiene.
“It’s every stylist’s dream to collaborate for a project that could help create social awareness. So, when I got a call from the production company I immediately agreed to be part of it. The first schedule of the shoot was about to begin and I got only a day’s time for preparation,” says Sonya.
The stylist who has a huge clientele, including Vishal, Simbu, Vishnu Vishal, Oviya, to name a few, says that the entire experience of styling DJ Bravo was fun. “The docu-feature is loosely based on the inventor of the low-cost sanitary pad-making machine. So, I had to make sure that the kind of clothes Bravo wears should go with the essence of the film. We cannot deviate from the topic and at the same time, should do justice to his character traits. I’ve selected dhotis and formal clothes for him. He is an entertainer full of energy and working with somebody like him was extremely fun and a great learning experience. He trusted me and gave total freedom to style his looks,” adds the stylist.
The last schedule of the shoot of Men Take Lead directed by Arthi Srivastava, will be held in Trinidad.
