International Life Skills Olympiad (ILSO) is the only Olympiad that tests kids’ life skills aptitude. The global test is specifically designed for school children (including home-schooled ones) from Class 3 to Class 12. This test will primarily focus on evaluating real-world skills and competencies that are critical for young children to manage and succeed in their personal, professional and social lives. The speciality of the Olympiad is to give participants an opportunity to make decisions about real-life situations by applying essential life skills such as leadership, ethics, teamwork, communication, empathy, goal setting, etc.

The registration line for ILSO is live and interested parents and schools can register students on www.lifeskillsolympiad.org by paying the nominal registration fee that includes life skills guides, practice questions, and a mock test. In 2018, large numbers of children from 2000 plus schools and 61 countries participated in the global online Olympiad. Besides many other grand prizes, winners were given a free air ticket to visit Harvard University.

The primary vision behind holding the Life Skills Olympiad, was explained by Sidharth Tripathy, Chief Convener of Skillizen Olympiad Foundation, to prepare young children for real-world challenges. While preparing for ILSO, participants will not only acquire new life skills but will also get an opportunity to match their skill at a global level against children from 100 plus countries, said Tripathy. He further elaborated as to why children should participate in Life Skills Olympiad, “While preparing for this test, young minds from Class 3-12 will be able to acquire new life skills and match their skills against the smartest children of the world. Participation in ILSO will certainly be their first step in becoming global citizens.”he added.
