Addressing the delegation at the event, Minister Vijaya Baskar said that Tamil Nadu has emerged as a model State in the country. The State has already achieved the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) well ahead of the 2030 target, he added.
With universal health coverage seeking to provide easy access to health services to all sections of the society, a total of 985 health sub centres have been reportedly upgraded to health and wellness centres with one additional village health nurse to provide twelve essential services in the State.
“Good health plays a pivotal role in the all-round development of the society.
Only a healthy population can contribute meaningfully to the growth of the country and our State is committed to building a healthy society,” the Minister said.
The third edition of the international event is being organised by Dr. Amar Prasad Reddy, chairman of Chennai International Youth Fest, and his team. The two-day event aims at providing a platform to young people to present their concerns and ideas to member States and help shape the direction of world development.
At least 250 delegates from more than 10 countries are participating in six sessions being held as part of the event.
