Liquor worth Rs 2 lakh looted from Tasmac outlet
Unidentified burglars drilled a hole into the outer wall of a Tasmac outlet and escaped with liquor worth Rs two lakh, near Chengalpattu on Friday.

The staff of the Tasmac retail shop (4004) in Villiyampakkam village near Chengalpattu, had closed the shop and went home late on Thursday late night. On Friday morning, it was the local people who noted a hole in the rear wall of the building. They immediately alerted the police, and also the Tasmac employees. A team of personnel from the Chengalpattu Taluk station arrived at the spot and found that the hole was drilled by burglars, who escaped with the liquor bottles kept inside the shop.
Police said liquor worth nearly Rs two lakh was stolen, along with Rs 26,000 kept in the shop. The police also found that CCTV cameras fixed in the nearby buildings were also stolen or damaged. The investigators suspect that the thieves used a minivan for the burglary. The Chengalpattu Taluk police have registered a case and are inquiring.
