Two boys drown in Palar river near Tirukazhukundram

The deceased were identified as Yougesh (12) and his relative Selvakumar (14). The incident happened when Yougesh had gone to Selvakumar’s house in Edayathur.

On Saturday afternoon, Yougesh and his eight-year-old sister Krithika went to the river along with their cousins Selvakumar (14) and Ramesh (17). As Yougesh and Selvakumar ventured into the deeper part of the river and struggled to swam back, Krithika and Ramesh ran home to call for help.

However, before the relatives could reach the spot, the two had drowned. Their bodies were fished out and sent to the hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
