The Kotturpuram police have booked Seeman under Sections 153 (provocation to cause violence) and 505 (1)(b)(c) (incitement) of IPC in connection with the speeches made on late Congress leader K Kamaraj’s death anniversary on October 2, 2018, as they found it to be inflammatory in nature.

Similarly, Thirumurugan Gandhi and three others – Arul Murugan, Lena Kumar and Praveen Kumar – have been booked by the Mylapore police under Section 153A (read with sec 34) of IPC, as their speeches were deemed to be against Brahmins and they made derogatory statements about Vedas, and Ramayana and Mahabharata. When contacted, the police said that the cases were booked as per the legal opinion by experts after the videos of their speeches were examined.
