Man, son held for threatening family of four, abetting suicide
Two of a family have been arrested for abetting the suicide of a woman and her daughter, whose bodies were washed ashore the Pulicat estuary earlier this week.

The police said that the family abused and harassed the victims over a family feud and they disappeared from their house at Gumudipondi on February 22. Following that, on February 26, the bodies of the woman and daughter washed ashore, while her husband and their son are still missing.
The Tiruvallur police arrested two men on Friday on charges of abetment of suicide. The victim family had posted a video on socialmedia about their decision to end lives.
According to the police, Ravi, his wife Veerammal and children Balamurali and Deivayani allegedly killed themselves on February 20 because of a property dispute between his younger brother Siva.
The police on Friday arrested Siva (48) and his son Ajith (24) from Kokkupalayam village near Gummidipoondi in Tiruvallur.
The family had recorded a video claiming that Siva and Ajith regularly threatened them over the property dispute and that the duo was responsible for their death, the police noted.
Bodies of Veerammal and Deivayani were washed ashore near Pulicat estuary and the police are searching for the bodies of Ravi and Balamurali.
Siva and Ajith were arrested based on the video evidence and also from a complaint from Ravi’s elder brother Ramadoss. They were remanded in judicial custody.
