Seeking corona check, man creates ruckus

An autorickshaw driver created ruckus at a private hospital after the medical team told him that he is not infected by coronavirus.

The man, who was not even having fever, insisted that he was suffering from COVID-19. He went on to attack staff at the hospital and later started smashing his head against the wall. The hospital staff had to tie his hands and legs before taking him to Royapettah GH. 


The incident happened on Monday. The autorickshaw driver, identified as Rajkumar, 46, of Saidapet had walked into the private hospital in Teynampet claiming that he was a corona patient.


After checking him, the medical team told him that he had no symptoms of the deadly virus. Not believing the medical staff, the started arguing with them. The doctors then asked him if he was under medication and found he was taking certain tablets for mental depression.


When the medical team asked him to leave, he became violent and later started hitting his head against the wall. Shocked staff at the private hospital over-powered him, tied his legs and hands before sending him to Royapettah GH, where he was administered three stiches on his head and allowed him to go.
