A few days after securing an order in his favour, Stalin on Sunday reached out to people in six Assembly seats in the State capital in a day.
Stalin, accompanied by his district secretary-cum-party MLA Sekar Babu, distributed relief materials to hundreds of families in Harbour, Egmore, Thiru Vi Ka Nagar, Villivakkam, Ambattur and Kolathur constituencies.
While the district secretary carefully chose two sets of 6,000 families living below the poverty line in Stalin’s Kolathur constituency, about 200 beneficiaries each, mostly unorganised workers, were selected in the other five constituencies.
Stalin also distributed grocery and essential items to conservancy workers and staff of the Tamil Nadu Water and Drainage Board in Villivakkam and Ambattur segments.
Early this week, his son and DMK Youth Wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin had also distributed grocery through the Youth Wing in South Chennai.
The DMK president, who had successfully moved the court against the government order prohibiting private players from distributing relief on their own, had accused the ruling party of preventing selfless groups and Opposition parties for political reasons.
