Posing as buyer, fraudster flees with mobile phone

Bhuvanesh of Choolai, a college student, posted an advertisement on OLX to sell his Samsung S10 for Rs 37,000. A youth who identified himself as Vinoth expressed interest to buy it.

As per Vinoth’s request, Bhuvanesh went to T Nagar on Thursday afternoon to show the gadget in person. Vinoth, who was waiting with another person, took the phone and suddenly ran away with it. Shocked Bhuvanesh managed to get hold of Vinoth’s companion and handed him over to the Mambalam police. However, the other person, too, was contacted by Vinoth over OLX on the pretext of selling something. He was let off after interrogation.
