A large WhatsApp group was created and everyone began discussing and brainstorming as to how we were to go about this. We knew that we’re going to be using this event to raise money for NGOs doing credible work because not everyone is as privileged as we are to sit in front of screens and have our lives merely disrupted. Our event kickstarted on June 23 and went on until July 1.
We received a total of 250+ registrations and even had to close registrations early for a few events due to the overwhelming response. We had events ranging from the debate, shipwreck, art, music, dance and event Paws Unleashed, an event of our furry friends.”
Cease The Spread, Yein Udaan, Besant Memorial Animal Dispensary and Team Everest are the NGOs the team has collaborated with. “Cease The Spread is an NGO started by a group of students from Sir Mutha School and are working on ceasing the spread of COVID19. Currently, they are hosting an online Fortnite tournament to raise funds for relief. Currently, we are working on raising funds. We are sharing all the updates on our Instagram page @thevortexevent,” adds Neeraja.
