Girl killed, friend injured as lorry rams bike from behind

The deceased was identified as Saranya of Triplicane, a graduate who is on the lookout for a job, and the injured was her male friend Danasekaran (23) of Washermenpet. Police said on Thursday, Danasekaran went to Nungambakkam for attending an interview and after completing the interview, he came to Saidapet to pick Saranya on his two-wheeler. Both were travelling to Pallavaram, when nearing St Thomas Mount, a lorry which was speeding from behind rammed on the two-wheeler and left without stopping.

In the impact, Saranya died on the spot and Danasekaran escaped with injuries. The St Thomas Mount Traffic investigation police have registered a case and are trying to trace the lorry with the help of CCTV footages.
