Man abuses girlfriend's minor daughter, held under Pocso Act

CHENNAI: A 32-year-old man who sexually abused his girlfriend's daughter has been arrested under Pocso Act by Sembium all-women police.

Police said that the minor girl's mother (36) is a widow and developed a relationship with the Pocso accused a few years ago. While they stayed together, the accused started sexually assaulting her minor daughter aged 17.

While it was the victim's mother who lodged a complaint against her boyfriend, inquiries revealed that the victim was earlier impregnated by another man named Rajesh and her mother aborted the child and did not intimate police about it.

Based on the girl's confession, police also arrested the victim's mother and remanded her along with her boyfriend. A hunt has been launched for absconding Rajesh.
