“As soon as I sat in the auto I realised that I had forgotten my wallet in my office in the rush,” he said in his Facebook post which is now going viral, with over 8000 shares and counting. So he asked the auto driver to wait for him until he finished his prayers and take him back to office to pick up the wallet. He also offered to pay him for waiting.
But what happened next will help restore your faith in humanity. Not only did the Shukla drop Rameez to the mosque for free, but also gave him money to take a rickshaw back to his office, since he wasn’t unable to wait and couldn’t have taken Rameez back to his office.
“Could be a stereotype breaker for some... An ‘Autowala,’ ‘Ganpati bhakt’ with ‘Large red tilak on forehead’ going out of his way to make sure that a fellow human of another faith gets to pray to his deity with all the peace,” concluded Shaikh. The simple selfless act of kindness by this auto-rickshaw driver proves that the world still has many good souls left.
